About the Project

IMAGINE THIS

What if you had an opportunity to be a Founding Benefactor and Lifetime Member of Forever Relevant, the world’s first non-profit archive of first-edition daily devotionals, sermons, hymns, poetry and texts that date to the 530 and perhaps earlier? And what if you could be a lifelong sponsor of Charles Spurgeon’s catalog, or his “Morning By Morning”, or the Ukrainian translation of it, or of what may be the world’s largest sermon collection?

These texts touched lives for centuries until they disappeared on dusty library shelves. They likely inspired the Charles Spurgeons, Billy Sundays, and Billy Grahams of the world – and our grandparents and parents, too. Would you like to read the devotional that Oswald and Gertrude Chambers read as a young married couple long before his “My Utmost For His Highest?” The archive contains its first edition – and a first of “My Utmost ..,” too, plus an archive of sermons, poetry, and hymns, including copies of 2,900 handwritten, dated, signed, and never recorded Fanny Crosby hymns, and a copy of Horatio Spafford’s “It Is Well With My Soul,” all intended to …

… BRING FAITH to LIFE and LIVES to FAITH, language by language, community by community, village by village, and family by family, but always secondary to the Word of God.

THE MISSION

As a global Christian publishing ministry, Forever Relevant will distribute content into hearts, hands, households, and villages throughout the world, digitally, audibly, on-demand, direct-to-subscriber, via missionary organizations, and searchable by daily need or interest, title, author, keyword, scripture, language, or braille, all the while supported by a faithful and self-sustaining ministry/business model, and in the following formats.

  • Masters Classic Versions include the original Old English devotionals, sermons, texts, poetry, and hymnals.
  • Forever Relevant Versions (FRVs) for modern readers are easy reading, Modern English versions of the Masters’ Classics, akin to a New International Version (NIV) of the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible.

FRVs will enjoy a Forever Relevant copyright, pursuant to domestic and international copyright laws, including:

  • International Versions in up to 275 languages, many of which are missionary-requested.
  • Braille Versions in 200 languages, plus India’s 300 dialects.
  • Native American Editions in the four remaining written languages.
  • Audio Versions in all recordable languages.
  • eBooks of the entire digital archive, including non-devotional books and sermons.
  • Curriculum Versions created by third-party publishers for preaching, teaching, small groups, and home churches.
  • Fanny Crosby Hymns licensed to music ministers, worship leaders, and recording artists, such as Forever’s existing albums featuring Matt Redman, Ricky Skaggs, Michael W. Smith, and many others.

How on earth?

Creative Development

Earth had nothing to do with it. On earth, this has never been done before, but we believe it has been God’s plan for a very forever time.

Content begins with the first or earliest available editions that have been long lost to the public and which Forever Relevant locates on dusty shelves worldwide. Expert scanning teams using high-resolution, dual-camera devices process 400-page editions in mere minutes and the entire archive in under thirty days. Foreign language translating is performed through a mix of digital assets, in-country translators, and retired missionary editors and proofreaders.

Translating and Audio Production

After hands-on editing and proofing, 40,000 devotional days (and counting) will be translated into the first 100 (of 275) languages, 30 audio languages, and 500 braille languages, all within one year, for a total of 24 million worldwide resources. Thereafter, Forever will focus on languages selected by missionary organizations and on Native American Choctaw, Cherokee, Inuktitut, and Navajo languages.

Missionary Editors

Translated text and audio content will be edited and proofed by retired missionaries, for which Forever will provide financial support, promote their missionary organization, and feature the communities and villages they served.

A True User Experience

A subscriber may customize their desired content by interest, immediate need, keyword, theme, author, title, or verse. Imagine preparing a Sunday school lesson, a sermon, or a family discussion in which a rare devotion, poem, or hymn is inserted or presented to each church member, such as a copy of Horatio Spafford’s handwritten “It Is Well With My Soul.” And for an international subscriber, such as Ukraine, the entire Forever website will change to that language.
